Hollow Words music is quite a spectacular mix of industrial metal, rock and new wave-actually probably best described as Cristoph’s own unique style. A solo project-this is the setting where I first heard Hollow Words-evolving from an earlier metal band…this now indie legend and his music is one to be heard, proud of, recognised and celebrated as the amazing artist along with the distinctive and outstanding music he brings. With collaborations with artists such as The Sanctity Of Crows, Histheory and To Die In Beauty in Hollow Words catalog, the brilliance continues to shine on spectacularly (always something which shows our indie scene as it is and can be- supportive of and encouraging one another’s gifts-all within a collaborative effort and a microcosm of our indie scene in one)
“The Coal Train (The Sinister Daily #1)” from Hollow Words' album “The Sinister Daily” is a force of industrial power and a sonic boom describing living in a city with all signs of urban industrial decay, in a house by a coal train-hearing the continuous echoes of the train resonating “beep beep” at all hours-believing he’d never live here but here he is…there’s a brilliant twist towards the end as he realises he belongs to this place and in fact sees the beauty in amidst the concrete and can handle the “beep, beep” of the coal train. This is his home. The music reflects this entire song perfectly, sound design as industrial as the city he’s living in with that coal train-the lyrics similarly recurring the beep beep of that train. This is quite a journey to experience.
