After immensely enjoying The Trespassers' music over a period of time, having been recently introduced to this Texan Rock band with Southern roots (even though they’ve been around since at least 2009) through Sweet Beets and the indie community as a whole; learning of this band with such stellar compositions such as “Eggshells (featuring Kadie Lynn)”, “Torn In Two”, “Crash and Burn” and “Lonely Eyes” some truly outstanding music passing through and already announcing to these ears that here indeed is a fine band… we arrive at this point with their latest release “Revelations”. With this most recent work, The Trespassers seem to have grown some seriously vicious teeth-and boy is “Revelations” packed with musical surprises, an astonishingly huge collective punch of sheer sonic musicality and power-this song definitely comes out swinging with immense technical ability and precision song craft. Beginning with a downward sweep into quite an epic guitar riff (slightly reminiscent of a much heavier “Foxy Lady” from Jimi Hendrix with unison fills breaking into the hypnotic swirl) as the drums (played solidly and brilliantly throughout-double kick, huge snare drum flams and navigating those aforementioned full band unison fills with skill and high energy) and bass guitar (with a very tasty, full and rich tone lurking and stalking around the song’s structure hitting those unison fills and complimenting both the drums and guitar) storm in- creating a forged steel like backdrop for the vocals to sneer and jeer the lyrics in a deep vocal range-this song brings it all with an edge-until the incredible wah laden guitar solo bursts out of what sounds like a full band stopping and chopping full forced barrier-then that lead guitar breaks free sparks flying bringing this song to another level. This is a brilliant full picture of a band in perfect rhythmic and melodic synchronicity…. ”Revelations” is utterly quite a revelation.
