The Sunflower Symphony

The Sunflower Symphony is an independent music project built around intimate songwriting, atmospheric arrangements, and emotionally driven performances. Rooted in piano driven ballads and synth textures, the music blends classic singer-songwriter influences of the late 1960's and early 1970's with their own love of an emotional vocal delivery. The group is comprised of two members; Mike (primary musician) and Grace (vocals). It began as a simple collaboration just to create the sound of songs they both loved. Their songs are intentionally stripped down, often utilizing piano, synth, and percussion with a haunting vocal performance over the top. It shows their commitment to mood and storytelling; you can feel the emotions seep out of each delivery, as if they are sitting down with you and telling you a story. In this way they hope to make their sound and their music accessible to anybody who enjoys connecting with music at a spiritual and intimate level. Rather than chasing commercial success or internet recognition, the group focuses on only one object: the song. They cover topics such as love, loss, memory, longing and the bittersweet feelings in between. Their music moves fluidly between solo piano and vocals to lush ethereal synthesizer and orchestral swells, influenced by artists from the classic era to modern cinematic and ambient pop. The project continues to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in authenticity, atmosphere, and human emotion.
