FFO: Influences - The Cure, Chameleons, Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, The Mob, Killing Joke, Magazine, Ramones, Massive Attack, The Fall

About
Distance from Zero are a Mancunian post punk duo, now based in Cumbria UK. Featuring Donna-Marie Stevens and SJ Collier, both influenced by the early punk rock, post-punk, electronic, new wave and goth scene.
The style is primarily rooted in post punk with the social conscience of punk it'self, but also draws on dub, 80's electronic music and 90’s Manchester indie. Previous releases by the duo have drawn several comparisons with the likes of PiL, Dub Sex, Levellers, Killing Joke, The Cure, Chameleons & Gary Numan. The songs often reflect observations of life over the last few decades, politics, war, corruption, austerity, personal challenges, failures & triumphs.
The duo are currently very active in the Independent Music Community. Working with the mantra; "music makers were music fans first, and we still are". If artists simply compete with one another, we are all weak. Working together, we are much stronger.
Collier previously wrote and performed with Manchester bands SupaJamma and Raindance. He also co-wrote songs with Mancunian punks Dog Toffee.

The Fear of Missing Out
⭐ Featured Song
The Fear of Missing Out
A highly relatable lyric for many people, if they're honest with themselves. It's a satirical look at social media and our collective and personal relationship with it. The song started life as a poem and is delivered as such, but over a soundscape.
So, be honest, is this you?
